God replies to Rick Perry

NOW, THEREFORE, I, RICK PERRY, Governor of Texas, under the authority vested in me by the Constitution and Statutes of the State of Texas, do hereby proclaim the three-day period from Friday, April 22, 2011, to Sunday, April 24, 2011, as Days of Prayer for Rain in the State of Texas.

Well ...that doesn't seem to have worked too well.

What could possibly be the problem?

Governor Perry even doubled down on his reliance on God's voice in his head by slashing the budgets of the Texas Forest Service battling the fires.

Then, despite his absolute stand on States' rights and self-reliance plus shrinking the size of the Federal government he is blaming the Feds for not providing help fast enough. And he wants more Federal help now.

Since he has this hotline to God, why not just declare some more prayer days?

Oh!

Please don't accuse me of any lack of sympathy for the families affected by the fires. Though none of my family is in the path of the current fires they saw smoke in the air in previous years and could still be affected this year. Especially if politics continues to overshadow governing.
