Only for the courageous!

by Tom Ferrio

Your Progressive Charlestown staff has been studying the new Affordable Housing law proposal until we're cross-eyed.

Now we give you some resources to do it yourself!

Some readers have asked for information so they can do their own evaluation of the new Affordable Housing law proposal. It's good to hear that they're not just trusting the CCA Tom Gentz proposal. I could quibble that they should just trust me but...

You can see the current state law regarding Affordable House here. This page contains links to the nine sections of the law.

We gave you a link to the new law proposal here. Remember that White Papers and Resolutions don't mean anything, it's the law that gets passed that determines the law.

Many people don't know that Microsoft Word includes a feature to compare documents. So we created a document with the current law and compared it to the new one. The result of that comparison is here for your review.

Some tips for reading the comparison document:

  • Everything crossed out, no matter what color, is deleted from the original law in the new proposal
  • Everything underlined is added to the original law in the new proposal
So have fun!

I plan to give my next report tomorrow evening after the Affordable Housing Commission meeting.
