  • The popular Charlestown Chamber of Commerce Seafood Festival runs Friday through Sunday (August 5-7) in Ninigret Park. Information is available here. Entertainment includes live music, amusement park rides and fireworks.
  • Our local National Wildlife Refuges have two nature walks scheduled this week. The Kettle Pond Visitor Center (50 Bend Road) is hosting a walk that will identify common Rhode Island birds on Friday at 3 pm. The Trustom Pond National Wildlife Refuge (1040 Matunuck Schoolhouse Road, South Kingston) has a walk scheduled for 2 pm on Sunday that will feature Rhode Island native plants.
  • On Friday, August 5, at 7 pm the Cross' Mills Public Library continues their Summer Concert Series with Steve DeConti, local jazz acoustical recording artist.
  • Those visiting town will appreciate hearing that we have these Farmers' Markets scheduled: Friday from 9 am until noon at the Cross' Mills Public Library and Saturday from 9 am until 1 pm at the Cross Mills Farmers' Market property across from the fire station under construction.
