Frank Glista tries his hand at Jimmie Speak

When not soliciting money to support Ninigret Park and the Air Memorial, Frank Glista is a great student of celebrities in our town. In today's episode he tries his hand at Jimmie-speak.

The following appeared, in a shortened form, as a letter to the editor in today's Westerly Sun.

Trying his hand at Jimmy Speak

For all of the vast number of citizens who follow the written antics of Mr. James Mageau, you must be getting bored with the same cries for attention year after year.  He has fallen into a writer's rut which I refer to as "Jimmy Speak".

Basically, this is the use of the same descriptive language over and over and over again.  Why, I bet I can even use all of his favorite phrases in one short paragraph.  Let's give it a try, shall we?

"Jimmy Speak" take #1 (Lets pretend Jimbo is talking about himself.  All "Jimmy Speak" is underlined.)
The public record clearly shows that I am a political neophyte with two faces which is why I speak out of both sides of my mouth.  There is incontrovertible evidence that I'm an egregious violation that doesn't pass the smell test.  I find it interesting that I attended a dog and pony show and all I ever got was smoke and mirrors with a red flag, how patently absurd.  This shouts volumes about my character, which is shot full of holes.  So, as a point of order regarding my 2012 Charlestown Town Council slate, they should all resign.

Hey, that was cool.....you should try it.

In closing, I offer the readers the following advice.  Do not argue with an idiot....he will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.
