VIDEO: Serra has her day in court

Former Chariho Committeewoman faces judge, gets pretrial conference date

Former Chariho School Committeewoman Terri Serra appeared in court today in the preliminaries over charges she faces stemming from the horrific car crash in Charlestown that left four Chariho students seriously injured. Serra is charged by Richmond Police under the state's social host program because the students were allegedly drinking at her home while she was present. She allegedly told the students who were drinking to leave, including the students who raced down Rte 112 and crashed.

Serra is also faces Charlestown Police charges for failing to render assistance after witness accounts put her at the scene of the crash where she allegedly cursed the students and left without helping them or calling 911.

Serra resigned her position representing Richmond on the Chariho School Committee.

Serra is represented by Rhode Island's most recognizable criminal defense attorney, Robert Mann, who has had decades of experience as the defendent's lawyer in dozens of notorious cases.

Serra now faces a pre-trial conference in early January.
