NEW Dinner Theater at The Haversham Tavern

Jay Beausoleil, owner of The Haversham Tavern, has successfully rebooted The Haversham Tavern, as anyone who has tried to eat there on a weekend evening can attest.

He is now experimenting with a new use for the fine banquet hall, a dinner theater production.

As reported in The Westerly Sun and The Providence Journal, Stage Door Theater Company and The Haversham Tavern, located at 336 Post Road in Westerly, will come together to create a two-night dinner theater event for the community on March 2 and March 3, 2012 with the Pulitzer Prize nominated drama Love Letters by A.R. Gurney (a New York theater review here).

Tickets are $45 per person and include the Haversham Style Buffet plus a meet and greet with Paz after the show. The buffet will be at 7 p.m. and curtains will open at 8 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the tavern, by calling 401-322-1717 or at the door on the evening of the performance.

More information is available at The Westerly Sun article.

I think it's great when our local businesses take a risk to offer us something new and we should try, if possible, to thank them for it. I know The Haversham is not in Charlestown but you won't have to pack a lunch to drive there!
