Even though we’re seeing some improvement in the local economy, there are still 232 unemployed Charlestown workers looking for jobs and probably a whole bunch more Charlestown residents looking for better jobs.

Fortunately, there are more jobs out there, it seems. Here are some very recent postings in our area.

  • Wood River Health Services is looking for a Behavioral Health Manager. Click here for details.
  • The Mystic Arts Center is looking for an Office Administrator. Click here for more details.
  • There are openings in the RI Marine Trades Pre-Apprenticeship Training Program, a good way to learn a skilled craft in a staple Rhode Island Industry. Click here for more details.
  • The Westerly YMCA is looking for a Gymnastics Instructor. Click here for more details.

These previous listings and many, many others around our area are posted on Rhode Island Community Jobs, a service of the Swearer Center at Brown University. To sign up for their daily e-mail with the latest job openings, click here and sign up.

The Patch websites in our area also list the following job openings:

In Narragansett:

In South Kingstown:

For some reason, there are still openings to play an extra in the bio-pic on former boxing champ Vinny Paz which is being filmed in Rhode Island. They’re going to need around 16,000 extras for crowd scenes when they film at the Dunk on December 16-17. Sign up at www.bleedforthisevent.com.
