The National Education Association Rhode Island Political Action Committee for Education (NEARI PACE) announced their endorsement of former Central Falls mayor James Diossa for the Office of General Treasurer of the State of Rhode Island.

“Diossa’s experience navigating the City of Central Falls through a tumultuous crisis, his work with the current Treasurer’s office, and his desire to continue their important work of reducing high-fee investments and focusing on safe, modern public-school facilities led us to this decision,” said NEARI PACE Chairwoman Amy Mullen.

“Our committee heard from two excellent candidates and had a robust discussion weighing this endorsement,” said NEARI President Larry Purtill.

“James Diossa is committed to transparent and accountable management of state finances. He will strengthen and grow the employee retirement system and bring together the many talents and partners necessary to maintain a stable and vibrant financial position for the Ocean State.”

NEARI is proud to join her brothers and sisters at the Rhode Island Federation of Teachers and Health Professionals in endorsing James Diossa for General Treasurer.
