  1. So as a parent of a child that formerly attended the summer camp I would like to voice a few complaints I have. First my child would come home sun burnt because they have the children apply it them selves (my child is 5). I addressed this but it was not remedied. Secondly my sister in law just happen to take her child to the pond where she witnessed bullying, when she looked for the counselor he was asleep while the children were swimming. Of course I addressed this with the director (a very sweet girl, but young), she stated that the situation was agreeably unacceptable and when she brought it to the counselor he stated he just had his back to the swimming 5/6 year olds because he was talking..not sleeping. Lastly and most unsettling a week later my sister in law brings her children to swim again, this time the camp pulls the young group from the water to change activities, all the while forgetting my 5 year old in the water. They took over 45 minutes to realize he was missing... 45 minutes, my child could have been abducted and out of the state in that amount of time. I was livid, all involved were extremely apologetic but I am unimpressed by this camp. I find it unorganized and the staff untrained. They did refund me but I don't recommend this camp. That's a lot of money to pay for blatant neglect......

  2. The Charlestown Parks & Recreation Department replies to the previous comment "We have addressed all of the issues with the parent. The camp wasn’t the correct fit for the family. They were given a full refund. There are over 130 content children who attend the camp."
