Credit for lost service

Cox covers customers for storm service interruptions
By Will Collette

Cox Communications is issuing credit to its customers that lost phone, cable TV and internet service during the power outrages caused by Irene.

I spotted a short blurb in the ProJo last Friday about Cox's willingness to do this.

I followed their instructions and sent off an e-mail to Cox the same day with account information and the number of days we were without service.

Today, two days later, we received confirmation that we will get a credit for the four days of lost service on our next phone bill.

Obviously, not everyone has Cox as a provider. Though I haven't seen any similar offers by area providers (e.g. Verizon). I suggest you should check to see if your cable, phone or internet service provider is willing to match Cox in crediting you for lost service.

Whaddya got to lose?
