What do the Charlestown Republican Town Committee and Jim Mageau have in common?

This question might come up on "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?"
By Will Collette

The Charlestown Republican Town Committee made it onto a list published in GoLocalProv.com today of PACs and city and town party committees who are delinquent in paying fines for violating campaign finance disclosure regulations. Usually, these fines are for late filing or failure to file.

The Charlestown Republicans owe the State Board of Elections $100 in fines.

They are joined in that regard by Jim Mageau, perennial candidate for Town Council on the Crank Party ticket.

Mageau also owes the RI Board of Elections for fines due to violations of Rhode Island's campaign finance disclosure law.

This is the same James M. Mageau who stood before the Town Council on November 14 to charge Frank Glista and others with conducting a secret criminal conspiracy out of town hall and Council Vice-President Deputy Dan Slattery with attempting to cover it up.

Jim. Pay your fines. File your campaign finance disclosure reports. Or shut up. On second thought, shut up.

Mageau told the Westerly Sun that he refused to pay the Board of Elections fines.

It will be interesting to see what happens when Mageau files as a candidate for 2012.
