On with the show: Mystic staff to get acting training

Also upgrades to presentation settings.

Mystic Aquarium and the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center, two of region’s most revered cultural organizations, have launched a partnership fostering engagement and bolstering conservation initiatives important to locals and guests alike.

The Guest Services staff at Mystic Aquarium will receive presentation training from the O’Neill’s educational and artistic staff.

Additionally, O’Neill artists will work with the cast and crew of the Foxwoods Marine Theater to elevate the current show offerings.

“With our staff’s breadth of knowledge of animals and conservation and the O’Neill’s expertise in performance and arts education, the delivery of our message will undoubtedly be enhanced as we strive not only to provide education and entertainment but as we work to create stewards to protect our ocean planet,” said Andy Wood, Senior Vice President of External Relations at Mystic Aquarium.
The Guest Services team will receive training by O’Neill artists in improvisation, voice support, reading crowds, and engaging audiences.

The development of new shows for the Marine Theater is expected to begin in the fall.
“We are delighted to forge a new partnership with the Mystic Aquarium, another vital major cultural institution of Southeastern Connecticut.   This new partnership leverages the O’Neill’s world-class training program and award-winning artists to directly impact our community, and launch exciting cross-disciplinary collaborations in entertainment and conservation.  I’m looking forward to what unfolds.” said Preston Whiteway, Executive Director at the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center in Waterford.
At its core, this new partnership will allow Mystic Aquarium to deliver powerful and engaging messages and drive stewardship for the betterment of the community for generations to come.
