Background

The outcome of the national elections means the threat to reproductive rights and access to health care, right here in Rhode Island, is frighteningly real.

That is why several of your neighbors are calling us together for a community meeting on reproductive freedom for residents of Northern RI.

What's at Stake?

Donald Trump has pledged to support defunding Planned Parenthood, repealing the Affordable Care Act, and to appoint anti-abortion judges to the Supreme Court.

If Roe vs. Wade, the Supreme Court decision that protects legal abortion, is overturned, control over reproductive rights will return to the states.

In fact, the Rhode Island Constitution says, in Section 2, that "Nothing in this section shall be construed to grant or secure any right relating to abortion or the funding thereof."

In the next weeks and months, there will be a lot of activity to defend and expand reproductive rights in Rhode Island. Rhode Islanders are ready to fight for reproductive freedom, no matter what happens in DC!

Together, we will fight to protect reproductive freedom. And we will stand strong against the hateful rhetoric and policies threatening so many communities across the country - including women, immigrants, people of color, the LGBTQ community, people with disabilities, and more.

For right now, please know that we will never back down, our doors will not close, and we will not stop fighting.
