Rep. Carol Hagan McEntee (D-Dist. 33, South Kingstown, Narragansett) recently presented House citations to the owners of Oakley Home Access in recognition of the work the company did during the pandemic to keeping seniors safe and independent in their own homes.

The citations were presented to Justin Oakley and Mike Vieira, co-owners of the business.

Representative McEntee was joined by Patricia Downey who was assisted by Oakley Home Access and the citations were presented at Ms. Downey’s home where a much-needed ramp was recently installed.

“The pandemic has been an extremely scary and uncertain time for Rhode Island’s seniors so I am grateful that companies like Oakley Home Access are providing the much-needed supports that our seniors need to safely and independently stay in their homes during these trying times.  Justin and Mike are incredible assets to our community and they deserved recognition for the good work they do, especially throughout the pandemic,” said Representative McEntee.

“All of us at Oakley Home Access are honored and humbled to receive this citation. We are so fortunate to be part of a community that values our seniors and their safety at home. We know we are one piece of the healthcare puzzle and it takes each of us working closely together to help facilitate and promote safe Aging in Place. Thank you Representative McEntee for joining our team on our mission,” said Justin Oakley and Mike Vieira.

“These two fine young men have helped me and kept me in my home for the past two and a half years.  Without them, I was at-risk of having to leave the home I have owned for 45 years and be moved to a nursing home.  I thank them for all they have done for me and every other senior that they have helped,” said Ms. Downey.
