A New Year for Your Favorite Aquarium!

Mystic Aquarium made a splash in 2021! The year was full of memorable moments. 2022 is still newly hatched, but we have already kicked off the first month strong! Our goal is to make this year even better than the former! You can look back at 2021 here, then read our fresh updates to begin another successful year.

A Safety Update
With covid-19 cases on the rise, we want to ensure a safe environment for guests, staff, volunteers, and animals. Beginning Saturday, Jan. 8th, guests are required to wear masks both indoors and outdoors regardless of vaccination status. Additional safety measures may be implemented for educational programs and events. We will list those measures on the event or program webpage or communicate them with enough advance notice.

High School Intern

New Session for High School Internships
Mystic Aquarium is accepting applications for its High School Internship program. This 8-week program caters to students in grades 9-12 and runs from Feb. 15th to Apr. 7th. A Mystic Aquarium professional will mentor the students, developing a range of technical and interpersonal workforce skills, including communication, collaboration, problem solving, leadership, and resume and interview skills.

The Countdown to Summer Camps Begins
We are pleased to provide memorable camp experiences for children entering grades PreK-10 and family programs for adult/child pairs. Summer camps span a wide range of topics guaranteed to engage your kids in a safe and animal-filled week. Mystic Aquarium summer camps filled up quickly last year, so do not miss out on an educational summertime!

A New Hope in 2022
Before the winter began, we announced that six Kemp's ridley sea turtles arrived at the Animal Rescue Clinic for rehabilitation. The sea turtles are no longer alone in the clinic. Two loggerhead sea turtles were admitted into the clinic in late December for cold-stunned treatment. One of the loggerhead sea turtles has a respiratory infection and wounds related to the cold-stunning event. All turtles are doing well and responding to their treatments. Follow our social media for the latest updates!
