The European Parliament unveiled “The Orange Plague,” a new gold leaf-covered statue depicting President Donald Trump naked while sitting on the shoulders of a smaller man.

The 8-foot statue—which is in a parliament building in Strasbourg, France—shows Trump holding a golf club on top of a pedestal that reads, “I am sitting on the back of a man. He is sinking under my burden. I will do anything to help him. Except stepping down from his back.”

A sponsor of the exhibit is Danish politician Per Clausen, who has been a vocal critic of Trump’s, referring to him as a political bully.

“Trump likes gold,” Jens Galschiøt, the creator of the statue, told CNN. “In a way, I think he would like this sculpture.”

On the artist’s website, Galschiøt says that the piece was inspired by H. C. Andersen’s tale “The Emperor’s New Clothes,” and visitors receive small 3D-printed versions of the statue to “take with them as a provocation and a call to action to stand together against his dominance.”

The statue—sans gold leaf—has previously appeared all over the world, making a big splash during climate protests in Brazil last year.

Galschiøt joins the great tradition of publicly humiliating the infamously thin-skinned Trump with public displays of resistance art.
